Today, the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum is taking place in St. Petersburg, and it has already been visited by a delegation of Ukrainian drones. Representatives of the states of Central Asia, Africa, and the Middle East have also arrived in the city. Among foreign leaders, Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan is taking part in the forum.

While the Russian authorities tell foreign guests about prospects for cooperation and spaceships plowing the vastness of the Universe, Russian recruiters in the countries of the Global South are buying local men to die for the price of one of Putin's Loro Piana coats.

We are publishing a list of Tanzanian citizens who signed contracts with the Russian Ministry of Defense and were sent to the front. Perhaps Samia Suluhu Hassan will learn about their fate at the forum, since at least two people on this list are already missing in action.

The recruitment of foreigners has become an important part of Russia's campaign to replenish losses at the front. Russia has used at least 28,000 foreign citizens from 135 countries around the world in its war against Ukraine.

The fates of foreign mercenaries remain unenviable. Some of them have been killed, some have suffered severe injuries, and some are in Ukrainian captivity. They are united by one thing: Russia's promises of easy money and quick earnings turned out to be far from reality.
