The “difficult” situation in Russia’s economy is not linked to internet shutdowns, said Maxim Oreshkin, deputy head of the presidential administration.

“The situation in the economy is very difficult. There is a shortage of resources and a shortage of personnel, which is hindering economic development. Structural changes are moving slowly, and technology adoption is happening slowly. The figures we are seeing for negative economic dynamics are not connected to internet shutdowns. There are other, far more significant factors,” he explained.

Internet Is Down, Economy Still Suffers

Oreshkin said the economic downturn is not linked to internet blocks.

Convenient: the connection vanished, but other factors are still to blame.
