The Russian Union of Travel Industry does not expect the season to be disrupted by oil product discharges in Tuapse.
“Of course, this is an unpleasant situation, but we hope that by the start of the tourist season everything will be normalized and put in order. However, it is worth noting that Tuapse is not the most popular destination among Russian tourists. There are other popular resorts — Sochi, Gelendzhik, Abkhazia, or Anapa. If vacationing in Tuapse becomes uncomfortable, the tourist flow will be redistributed,” explained the union’s press secretary Artur Abdyukhanov.
Meanwhile, local volunteers are complaining that the sea is constantly washing fresh oil products onto the city beach.

If the sea smells like a terminal, tourists will simply be redistributed.
