In the “DPR,” turnout in the State Duma elections exceeded 70% on the morning of the first day of voting

The highest voter turnout in the State Duma elections, according to the Central Election Commission, was recorded in the Russian-occupied part of Donetsk Oblast, where 74.02% of voters had cast ballots by 10 a.m. on September 18, Verstka noted.

“We decided to go big and voted for all 20 days we were given for early voting. We focused on military personnel. So that the guys at the front, in the hardest conditions, could vote. We tried to move in mobile groups, tried to disguise the ballot boxes,” said Vladimir Vysotsky, head of the “DPR” election commission.

In the neighboring “LPR,” the figure was 20.36% of voters, and in the occupied part of Zaporizhzhia Oblast, 38.59%.

The Central Election Commission recorded the highest turnout on Russian territory by 10 a.m. on September 18 in Bryansk Oblast, where 54.11% of voters had cast ballots. Other border regions were more modest — turnout there exceeded 20% of votes only in Belgorod Oblast.

In total, almost 6.5% of voters had cast ballots in Russia by 12:00 Moscow time. In the occupied territories, early voting had been taking place since August 30, and in the Russian regions bordering them, early voting had been under way since September 9.
