The presidential administration advised against expecting sanctions to be lifted and the old world to return

This was stated by Maxim Oreshkin, deputy head of the presidential administration, at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

According to him, Russians should not expect that "something old will return, that sanctions will be lifted." In Oreshkin's view, "the world that existed here 20 years ago no longer exists and never will."

Against this backdrop, the deputy head of the administration advised people to "look ahead more optimistically, and talk more about opportunities," saying that "there are no failures in Russia's economy."

In Oreshkin's opinion, Russia needs to "develop actively on the domestic front" and "move away from a defensive economic model."
