An official was fined for publishing soldiers’ data on a website with U.S. hosting

The deputy head of the administration of the Abinsky district in Krasnodar Krai was fined 100,000 rubles under the article on violating personal data law, the region’s joint court press service reported, as noted by the outlet 7x7.

The woman was responsible for the district administration’s website, which published data about participants in the war in Ukraine and their relatives. The resource was hosted on a platform owned by an American company.

This constitutes the cross-border transfer of personal data to the territory of the United States of America, which poses a threat to the security of the Russian Federation under the conditions of the special military operation,

the press service said.
