“Overnight, the Moscow Region came under a massive drone attack. From 03:00 to 05:00, air defense forces and electronic warfare systems shot down and suppressed 249 UAVs in 17 districts. The attack is continuing. The most serious consequences were recorded in the Ramensky district. On Severnoye Highway, the roof of a 21-story apartment building caught fire as a result of a UAV falling. Four hundred people were evacuated, including 70 children. Twenty cars were damaged. In Sofyino, a UAV hit a three-story apartment building on Novaya Street. Six apartments on the third floor were damaged. Unfortunately, a 44-year-old woman was killed. Five more people were injured, including two children. The children have been hospitalized and are receiving all necessary medical care. Another person was killed in the Orekhovo-Zuyevsky district — an elderly man was in a private house that was destroyed and caught fire as a result of the attack. I express my sincere condolences to the relatives and loved ones of those killed. One injured person is also known about in the Leninsky district. Information about the condition of the injured continues to be clarified. In Sofyino, a warehouse complex also caught fire after the attack. Another serious fire occurred in Kotelniki, where a UAV hit an apartment building in the Novye Kotelniki microdistrict — apartments on three floors are engulfed in flames. Information about casualties is being clarified. Firefighters and emergency services are working at the sites. The consequences of the attack were also recorded in other municipalities. Private houses were damaged in Ramenskoye, Kolomna, and Yegoryevsk; fires broke out in apartment buildings in Leninsky, Lyubertsy, and Lytkarino. In Istra, a residential building and an enterprise building were damaged; there were no casualties. There is also damage in Voskresensk. Emergency services continue to eliminate the consequences at all addresses,” the message from the governor of the Moscow Region says.

The most massive attack by drones flying toward Moscow has been repelled, Sobyanin reported. Since yesterday, more than 1,600 drones have been repelled on all lines, including 450 on approach to Moscow, he added.
