Residents of Moscow and the region complained about the lack of alerts during a UAV attack on the last day of voting. The Moscow Region governor closed comments on Telegram
Residents of Moscow and the Moscow Region reported a lack of alerts during one of the most massive drone attacks on the capital region, which took place on the last day of voting in the State Duma elections, “Vyorstka” noticed.
“Zyablikovo. Since five in the morning. It was just hell. Zero alerts, sirens... They just don’t give a damn about people”; “And no sirens at all, I’m just shocked”; “Why don’t they turn on the air-raid alarm? They’re jamming the internet, there’s nowhere to find out about the threat of a UAV attack! Not even any notifications are coming, although they are OBLIGED to notify people,” users wrote in city chats.
As residents reported, they did not receive SMS messages and did not hear a siren. In the comments, they are asking the authorities to start issuing orders so that such signals arrive on time and people can go to a shelter.
“And also, why is there still no alert, no siren? People are dying because they are not warned in time. Please issue orders so that alerts are given on time and people go to a shelter. Though not one like the one in our building,” one user wrote under a post by Moscow Region Governor Andrey Vorobyov.
As “Vyorstka” found, in response to this comment, a representative of the Pavlovo-Posad urban district administration stated that the integrated alert system is not used during sudden drone attacks. At the same time, according to him, it is needed for timely and guaranteed notification of people, including in connection with the conduct of military operations and their consequences.
Nevertheless, some Moscow Region residents said sirens were heard after all, but only for a short time. They noted, for instance, that alerts were switched on in the Ramenskoye district and Domodedovo. In addition, according to one user, he heard it from the direction of Kommunarka.
Meanwhile, Moscow Region head Andrey Vorobyov closed comments on his Telegram channel. The last message in it was published on September 19 at 22:00.
