Aliyev: Russia can no longer supply its partners with oil and gas after its refineries were knocked out
At today’s meeting with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said that Russia is no longer capable of fully supplying its traditional partners with oil and gas. He linked this to Russian refineries being put out of action after attacks by Ukrainian drones.
He added that Azerbaijani natural gas is currently supplied to ten European countries, including EU member states, and suggested that Europe invest in ադրբեջанская нефтегазовая инфраструктура:
We should not abandon the “green” agenda, but at the same time European banks should reconsider their decision so that oil and gas infrastructure projects can once again receive investment.
If that happens, Azerbaijan will be able to significantly increase its supplies of natural gas and oil to Europe, including Germany.
