The State Duma has allowed ‘border defenders’ to enter universities without exams and granted them ‘credit holidays’

The State Duma has extended support measures for military personnel to “participants in the counterterrorism operation (CTO) in the Kursk, Belgorod, and Bryansk regions,” TASS reports.

“Border defenders and their family members,” in particular, were given the right to credit holidays, free legal assistance, and the right to enroll in universities “under a special quota without entrance exams.”

In addition, today the State Duma passed laws:

🔹banning foreigners with criminal convictions from residing in Russia. They will also be denied admission to Russian citizenship;

🔹doubling the list of offenses for which foreigners can be expelled. Among the grounds are participation in “unauthorized rallies” and “discrediting” the army;

🔹requiring notification via Gosuslugi about the signing of a credit agreement: it is assumed that such a notification must be sent to the personal account no later than 15 minutes later;

🔹introducing an import damper on diesel fuel and extending the “garage amnesty” until September 2031.
