“The net is just symbolic.” A registry office in Udmurtia is giving camouflage nets to newlyweds
The civil registry office in Glazov (Udmurtia) published a wedding photo of two local residents with a gift: a camouflage net. The groom was a participant in the war in Ukraine, his name is Ilya, writes Podyom.
Natalia Kumpyak, head of the registry office, explained to the outlet that this was not the only case of such a gift. According to her, there is an organization in the city that has specialized in making camouflage nets since 2023, and the registry office cooperates with it:
We got in touch with them this year; somehow we decided that we wanted to take part in this. At the registry office, we hand over one net, but we give out the contacts of this community. And then they, as humanitarian aid, provide more nets, and some clothing, things, and everything necessary that can be sent to the fighters
In a conversation with the outlet, Kumpyak stressed that “the net is just symbolic.” According to her, if participants in the war contact the registry office for any service, employees give them the contacts of the community “Makseti.Glazov,” and “then they arrange what and where can be sent.”
