Who got in and what happened to observers. First election results

Voting has ended, and the Central Election Commission has summed up the preliminary results. Meanwhile, reports of pressure on observers continue to come in from polling stations.

First results

🟠 According to preliminary CEC data, United Russia will have 355 seats in the State Duma. This will become the party’s largest faction in its entire history: the previous record was set in 2016, with 343 mandates.

🟠 The CPRF is preliminarily getting 40 seats, the LDPR 25, New People 20, and A Just Russia four. The latter has so far not crossed the five-percent threshold on party lists.

🟠 CEC head Ella Pamfilova called turnout a record. According to the commission, it was 59.32%.

🟠 Yabloko is getting into the Novgorod Regional Duma, winning about 6.2% of the vote. This is the only region where the party still had a list in these regional elections.

Pressure on observers

Over three days, the “Observing Together” project recorded 316 reports of violations of observers’ rights. The CEC reported 43 appeals related to observers being denied access and the submission of their lists, while Pamfilova claimed that most of the reports were not confirmed.
