A 185-for-185 prisoner exchange has taken place.
A 185-for-185 prisoner exchange has taken place.
Almost half of those returning to Russia today were found by relatives through the project searching for Russian servicemen in Ukraine "I Want to Find". The project provided families with confirmation that they were being held in captivity, and this helped secure prisoner-of-war status for them in Russia. Reach out, keep searching.
Unfortunately, there is no similar project for Ukrainian prisoners held in Russia. Russia couldn't give a damn about the Geneva Conventions: the Russian Federation does not even have POW camps, and Ukrainian prisoners are kept in pretrial detention centers like ordinary inmates. Again, this is not a bug, it's a feature: that is how they demonstrate their hatred of humanity.
