Hungary unblocked €6.6 billion from the European Peace Facility for Ukraine. This is money intended for EU countries as compensation for weapons transferred to Ukraine. Orban had been blocking this money for two years since mid-2024. A plan for its use is now being developed; most likely, the freed-up funds will be used to strengthen air defense, according to Népszava (Hungary).
