Everything here is so obvious that...

It is obvious that the most Putin will do in response is dash off yet another article about the "root causes of the crisis," the "state coup," and the "illegitimacy of Zelensky." Or he will simply point to the article he wrote in July 2021 already while preparing for the invasion, as if to say, it's all written there.

It is obvious that Volodymyr Zelensky understands this. The Ukrainian leadership is fully aware that Putin is not going to end the war either in 2027 or in 2028, and however much Ukraine wants peace, it needs to be ready for a long war. It is very important that all adherents of the "peace-any-minute-now" sect understand this, much as I myself would like to believe that... Because there is an imaginary universe, and there is objective reality.

It is obvious that this letter, however well it is written, cannot change Trump's attitude toward Ukraine, when he has just called Putin "a very good person" (Zelensky too. Well, thanks for that!)

Zelensky simply did what he had to do. And he is ready for what comes next (the continuing war).

Putin, meanwhile, will do nothing and will go on bombing civilians, just as he said: "to use the Oreshnik in full format, including in urban areas."

The question is how many more trucks with people the "full-format" side still has. And how many trucks with drones Ukraine has. And how much capacity Europe has to invest in production and multiply those drones for Ukraine. Because Putin will not stop until he chokes on blood.
