In Yakutia, a deputy from New People was added to the “foreign agents” register and stripped of his mandate. In Altai, CPRF deputies were accused of “fictitious” employment. In Krasnoyarsk, the LDPR leader received a ten-year prison sentence.

Even those who support the authorities on key issues, including the war in Ukraine, are being persecuted. Falling ratings for United Russia and tougher repressive legislation have expanded the circle of victims, experts say.
