Part of the city was left without water because of the fire at the Tuapse oil refinery

A statement from the local authorities clarifies that the water supply has been “temporarily suspended” because of a breakdown in the power supply system of the water pumping station, which is located on the grounds of the burning oil refinery.

Because of the severe fire, combustion products are entering the atmosphere, so residents are being advised to take precautions.

As the Emergency Situations Ministry reported, petroleum products from a tank at the burning refinery were thrown onto the road, and several cars and garages were damaged

Veniamin Kondratyev, the governor of Krasnodar Krai, who arrived in Tuapse, said that the “situation is difficult, but under control”.
