Informant Vitaly Borodin lost his lawsuit against Alla Pugacheva

Moscow’s Presnensky District Court fully rejected the claim filed by informant Vitaly Borodin against singer Alla Pugacheva for the protection of honor, dignity, and business reputation, the lawyers representing the singer’s interests told Meduza.

The grounds for the lawsuit were an interview Pugacheva gave to journalist Katerina Gordeeva, published on YouTube in September 2025. According to the lawyers, Borodin believed that his honor and dignity were defamed by an eight-second fragment of the interview in which Pugacheva calls the war a war and says: “Borodin, get ready! Informants and snitches, attention!” He demanded a retraction from the singer, compensation in the amount of five million rubles, and the removal of the video.

The singer’s defense argued that the lawsuit was built on a “distorted written rendering of an oral remark.” According to the lawyers, Borodin combined into one sentence words that in the interview are separated by a pause and intonation. They also pointed out that Borodin’s demand for a retraction on Katerina Gordeeva’s YouTube channel was impossible to fulfill, since the singer has no access to it.

In court, Borodin said that he had never heard himself publicly called an “informant” or a “snitch.” In response, the lawyers submitted 80 pages of media publications in which he is called that.

On his Telegram channel, Borodin said that the “court’s conclusions do not correspond to the actual circumstances of the case and the evidence presented.” He added that he plans to appeal the decision.
