In the war in Ukraine, Naran Ochir-Goryayev has been killed — a Hero of Russia who took part in Putin’s call-in show

Russian serviceman Naran Ochir-Goryayev was killed “while carrying out combat missions” in the war against Ukraine. This was reported by Kalmykia’s head, Batu Khasikov.

“He was a true warrior, an officer with a capital O, an example of courage and fidelity to his oath. From the first days of the SMO, Naran Ochir-Goryayev was on the front line. Behind him were Soledar, the liberation of Siversk, and the most difficult combat operations,” Khasikov said.

Naran Ochir-Goryayev was a native of Kalmykia. His relatives said that he went to war against Ukraine as a volunteer in 2022. Before that, he worked in the State Traffic Inspectorate. In the war, he was a commander of an assault company.

In December 2025, he took part in Vladimir Putin’s call-in show, during which Putin addressed him several times.
