Kremlin: the businessman who met with Zelensky in Kyiv is well known. The Verkhovna Rada says it was Abramovich
The Russian businessman who, as Vladimir Putin claimed, traveled to Kyiv in May and met with Volodymyr Zelensky is quite well known. This was reported to VGTRK correspondent Pavel Zarubin by Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov.
“A fairly major businessman went to Kyiv. Many people know him,” Ushakov said, declining to reveal the entrepreneur’s name.
Verkhovna Rada deputy Oleksiy Goncharenko said on June 6 that Zelensky had met with Roman Abramovich.
“According to my information, such a meeting did indeed take place, and it was Roman Abramovich who was involved; it was he who came to Kyiv at that time to meet with the president and convey information from him to Putin,” the deputy said.
