Activists in different regions of Russia plan to hold rallies against election falsification

The authorities are finding reasons not to approve them.

🔹In Izhevsk, a solo picket took place: an activist came out with a placard reading “They stole our choice.” It is also reported that activists submitted an application to hold a rally in Izhevsk near Kulakova Skis on October 3 at 13:00, but there has not yet been approval from the authorities.

🔹In Yekaterinburg, Yabloko candidate Shana Ogney submitted notification of a rally in support of fair elections, her associate told 7x7. The event is planned for October 7 on Truda Square. The application lists protest against falsifications and the defense of citizens’ electoral rights.

🔹In Kazan, political activist Dmitry Rumyantsev was refused permission to hold a rally: officials believe the purpose of the event is formulated vaguely and “allows for ambiguous interpretation.”

🔹In Perm, the administration demanded that activist Alexei Oglobin change the purpose of the event, since, in the officials’ view, “expressing opinions against falsifications in elections” could be interpreted as publicly making accusations against election commissions and officials without a court verdict, which violates the presumption of innocence.
