Two new committees will appear in the State Duma. Volodin was again approved as chairman of the lower house of parliament

This was announced by United Russia party chairman Dmitry Medvedev.

The two new committees will be responsible for digital development and artificial intelligence, and for criminal and administrative legislation.

He named Alexander Sidyakin, head of United Russia’s central executive committee, as the candidate for chairman of the first, and Yuri Petrov for the second.

In addition, the party again nominated Vyacheslav Volodin for the post of State Duma speaker. According to Medvedev, Vladimir Putin supported the nomination.

🔵Earlier, Vedomosti, citing four sources close to the presidential administration, reported that a committee for ensuring technological leadership would appear in the State Duma of the ninth convocation. It will oversee marketplaces, AI, and drones.
