A Russian military Mi-8 helicopter violated Polish airspace
The incident occurred on September 23 at 11:08 north of the town of Braniewo, Poland’s Armed Forces Operational Command reports. Fighter jets were scrambled.
According to the Polish military, the helicopter was flying from the Kaliningrad region and remained in Polish airspace for about 42 seconds.
The nature of the incident indicates that Russia is once again testing the readiness of our air defense system. The air defense crews of the Republic of Poland are conducting round-the-clock monitoring, remaining in constant readiness to ensure the security of Polish airspace,
the agency noted.
