Schoolchildren may be required to record soldiers’ recollections for a “People’s Digital Archive of the Special Military Operation”

The Russian Military Historical Society has proposed involving schoolchildren in recording the recollections of participants in the war in Ukraine and volunteers helping Russian troops at the front, Kommersant writes.

“Concerned students, primarily in the upper grades, could take on the work of collecting the recollections of their elders, veterans of the special military operation,” said RVIO academic director Mikhail Myagkov.

It is assumed that schoolchildren will ask the “heroes of the special military operation” about their “feats,” “unusual and interesting incidents,” and the reasons they went to war. The collected stories will become part of the exhibits of school “special military operation” museums and “serve as a basis for the postwar study” of the war by historians.
