As part of the 21st package of anti-Russian sanctions, the European Commission plans to ban entry to the EU for Russians who took part in the war with Ukraine, Ursula von der Leyen said.

According to Reuters, the new package will also include:

▪️ Restrictions against 90 banks and 11 crypto platforms from Russia and third countries;

▪️ A ban on exports to Russia of metals, alloys, and components for UAVs;

▪️ Sanctions against 30 tankers of the so-called “shadow fleet”;

▪️ Sanctions against ports involved in energy trade with Russia.

At the same time, the price cap on Russian oil will remain unchanged.

A Big Package, Same Old Cap

The package grows, but the oil cap stays put.

Resolve steered neatly around oil again.
