The Federal Tax Service sent the regions recommendations on increasing tax collections
The Federal Tax Service sent the regions recommendations on increasing tax collections. In particular, the agency is asking for higher tax revenues from retail and office real estate, transport, and other property, RBC writes.
Among the recommendations:
▪️ Expanding the list of retail and office properties for which tax is calculated based on cadastral value;
▪️ Revising reduced rates for businesses, canceling ineffective benefits, and raising the transport tax;
▪️ Revising taxes on land and real estate, as well as looking for plots that are being used not for their designated purpose.
According to the outlet, Russia's Finance Ministry sent similar recommendations to governors. The goal is to carry out the president's orders on reducing regional budget deficits.
Budget Gaps Will Be Found in Property
Regions were told to squeeze property and transport taxes.
The deficit goes where collection is easiest.
