The explosion of a BMW X3 in Balashikha occurred on the morning of June 7. Authorities and emergency services said that a man who was inside the car was killed in the incident, but did not name him.

A few hours later, blogger Anatoly Shariy, the Telegram channel VChK-OGPU, and the Ukrainian website INSIDER UA published reports saying that the dead man was Damir Davydov, an officer in the supply department of the Main Missile and Artillery Directorate (GRAU) of the Russian army.

🔵The outlet Agentstvo, after studying leaks, found that Davydov did indeed live in Balashikha near the site of the explosion. A BMW X3 belonging to the Davydov family, similar to the one that was blown up in Balashikha, appeared in photos on social media posted by the colonel's son, 20-year-old cadet of the Military Academy of Logistics Rafael Davydov, Vazhnye Istorii уточняли.

🔵An Astra source said that in the same area of Balashikha, less than a kilometer from the blast site, Deputy Chief of the Main Operations Directorate of the General Staff Lieutenant General Yaroslav Moskalik was killed in April 2025 by the explosion of an improvised device. According to the outlet's source, Davydov and Moskalik knew each other.

🔵The operation to kill Davydov was carried out by forces of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), The Insider reported, without specifying a source. A senior Ukrainian official, who requested anonymity, also told The New York Times that it was Davydov who was killed in the explosion.
