Authorities raised fees for obtaining Russian citizenship 12-fold, to 50,000 rubles

Today, State Duma deputies passed in both the second and third readings a bill raising state fees in the migration sphere, State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin reported. The fees increased severalfold:

🔹Obtaining Russian citizenship has become 12 times more expensive, from 4,200 to 50,000 rubles.

🔹Obtaining a temporary residence permit (RVP) has gone up 8 times, from 1,920 to 15,000 rubles.

🔹Issuance of a residence permit has gone up 5 times, from 6,000 to 30,000 rubles.

In addition, the fee for issuing permits to hire foreign workers is being increased to 15,000 rubles for each employee.

Volodin also recalled that the day before, in the first reading, the State Duma passed a bill under which some powers to regulate labor migration will be transferred from the Labor Ministry to the Interior Ministry.

According to the State Duma speaker, the decisions are being made to improve migration policy. The government submitted the bill to increase the fees to the State Duma in May 2025.
