State Duma bans “foreign agents” from acting as advertisers for public service advertising

The bill on this was adopted in its second and third readings.

It is also now prohibited to use the resources of “foreign agents” to publish advertising materials, and the procedure for removal from the register is being tightened. In addition, the document requires financial organizations and public authorities to provide information about the activities of “foreign agents” within three days of receiving a request.

The measure will come into force on September 1.
