State Duma introduces fines of up to 700,000 rubles for owners of Russian websites that allow user authorization through foreign services
The bill was passed immediately in its second and third readings, TASS reports.
It provides for the addition to the Code of Administrative Offenses of an article establishing fines for failure to fulfill the obligation to carry out user authorization when providing access to information.
Under current law, user authorization in Russia must be carried out using a Russian phone number, the unified government services portal, the unified biometric system, or another information system whose owner is a Russian citizen or legal entity. Failure to comply with this requirement will result in a fine of 10,000 to 20,000 rubles for individuals, 30,000 to 50,000 rubles for officials, and 500,000 to 700,000 rubles for legal entities.
