Court in St. Petersburg declares the film "Call Me by Your Name" banned in Russia

The Krasnogvardeysky District Court found signs of a "destructive ideology" in the films "Love, Simon," "Kill Your Darlings," and "Call Me by Your Name," the court's press service reported.

The administrative cases listed six internet pages containing these films, but the press service did not specify which ones. However, the court found that they contained information "arousing interest in non-traditional sexual relations and aimed at changing a negative attitude toward them into a positive one through imposition."

For this reason, as well as under the law by which the "international LGBT movement" was recognized as extremist in Russia, the court ruled that the films at these links are banned from distribution on Russian territory.
