Journalists from Vot Tak found out how servicemen close to Alaudinov serve far from the front line, holding safe rear positions, while ordinary contract soldiers and mobilized men are sent into assaults. While some risk their lives every day, others receive the same benefits, payments, and the status of "participant in the special military operation" without ever leaving the bars.

This has long become an unwritten rule of the Russian army: assaults for ordinary soldiers, staff jobs and the best bars of Belgorod and Kursk for commanders' relatives and hangers-on.
