Relatives of missing Russian Armed Forces servicemen do not support the war.

Since the project launched in January 2024, “I Want to Find” has already received more than 200,000 requests to search for Russian army servicemen missing in the war with Ukraine. And with each day of the war, the number of those killed, missing, and wounded only continues to grow.

When accepting search requests, we also ask a simple question: Do you support Russia’s invasion of Ukraine? The answer does not affect the provision of information in any way; it is more of a reminder to Russians why they ended up in this situation.

Thus, the level of support for the Russian invasion of Ukraine among those who contacted the “I Want to Find” project in June 2026 was only 18%. This is the lowest figure for the entire period that statistics have been kept.

Back in 2025, when asked, “Do you support Russia’s attack on Ukraine?”, from 25% to 30% of applicants to “I Want to Find” answered yes. However, by the end of the year, this figure began to decline.

The project’s data is also confirmed by figures from independent sociological research. Thus, according to data from the Institute for Conflict Studies and Analysis of Russia, the share of those wanting to end the war “as soon as tomorrow” reached its highest level since the start of the full-scale invasion — 81%.

For Russians, the senselessness of the war and its lack of prospects are becoming obvious. Because, apart from more and more graves all across Russia, it has brought nothing good into the lives of ordinary Russians.
