Russian assets of Western companies are being transferred to temporary management so European countries “think about” what sanctions they impose

A senior source in the Russian government told Reuters.

“The time has come for asymmetric measures. Let them think about what steps they are taking and what sanctions they are imposing,” he said.

Asked whether the assets of the Italian bank Unicredit and the Austrian group Raiffeisen could be transferred to temporary management, the source replied: “Let them be afraid.”

🔵On September 17, the Russian assets of Nestle and Auchan, as well as a chain of home-improvement stores that previously operated under the Leroy Merlin brand, were transferred to the temporary management of L.E.V. Management. The firm was registered in October 2024 with charter capital of 15,000 rubles.

🔵Putin’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov explained the transfer of Auchan and Nestle to temporary management by saying that they are companies from “unfriendly countries.”

🔵The Russian assets of Metro were also transferred to temporary management.
