Russia is proposing to allocate an additional 16.6 billion rubles for the salaries of judges and their assistants
They want to take the money from local budgets.
The Supreme Court has prepared a bill introducing new monthly payments for judges and their assistants — “for complexity and intensity,” as well as for special procedural status, TV Rain noted.
At present, the level of monetary compensation for judges does not correspond to their high status, the tasks they perform in administering justice, or the degree of responsibility placed on them as holders of judicial authority,
the explanatory note to the bill says.
Court chairs will be able to receive up to two official salaries in additional monthly payments, while ordinary judges will receive from 40% to 100% of their salary.
The new payments are proposed to be introduced from January 1, 2027.
