Over St. Petersburg, sightseeing helicopters have been banned from flying because of the “situation” in the country

A ban on flights by private helicopters has been introduced in St. Petersburg and the surrounding area, the Telegram channel “Ostorozhno, novosti” writes.

Employees of one of the air clubs said the airspace was closed because of “the situation in the country” — no small aircraft should be in the sky because of intensified attacks by Ukrainian drones.

According to “Ostorozhno, novosti,” the sky has been closed until June 15, but the ban may be extended. The air club believes the restrictions will last at least until June 18.

The ban means that sightseeing helicopters, which were used to organize one-day tours, can no longer fly over St. Petersburg — they are now forced to fly around the city.
