Ukraine has launched its largest military reform, aimed first and foremost at improving service conditions. There is a lot in it, from transparent transfers to deferments and clear contract terms for infantry.

But I especially want to highlight this point: "We are opening the foreign recruitment market. Ambitious goal: more than 50% of assault troops and infantrymen are legionnaires. Private recruiting companies will screen and direct volunteers to Ukraine."

People talked for years about the need to recruit foreigners, especially since there really does seem to be demand for it. And only now have they started implementing it at the state level. Very, very late, but it is still better than never.

They are promising the highest salaries in the world for infantrymen: $7,000-10,000 per month.

Obviously, the goal of 50% foreigners among infantrymen and assault troops is extremely ambitious. But if you do not set goals, then nothing will happen for sure. Now all that remains is to wish them luck in carrying it out.
