Spending on Putin and the presidential administration in 2027 will rise to almost 36.8 billion rubles. That is 3.6 billion more than plannedMaintaining Russian President Vladimir Putin and his administration in 2027 will cost taxpayers 36 billion 786 million rubles. This amount is included in the draft federal budget for 2027, “Vyorstka” noticed.
That is 3 billion 59 million rubles (9%) more than the government planned to spend on the president and the Presidential Administration a year ago: in the budget adopted a year ago for the 2027 planning period, the authorities allocated only 33 billion 727 million rubles for these purposes.
According to the documents, 21 billion 833 million rubles will be spent on salaries for Presidential Administration staff and the president. Another 13 billion 477 million rubles will go toward the purchase of “goods and services” for the needs of the presidential administration.
The 9% increase in spending on maintaining Putin and his administration significantly exceeds the 2026 inflation forecast of 6.8%, which the Ministry of Economic Development announced in September. And that is despite the fact that inflation had already been factored into the initial spending amount the government announced a year ago.
Thus, since the start of the full-scale war in Ukraine, the cost of maintaining the president and the Presidential Administration has grown 2.5 times: in the 2022 budget, the authorities allocated 14.7 billion rubles for these purposes.
In total, over the next three years the authorities expect to spend almost 106 billion rubles on Putin and his apparatus.
