The United Kingdom has imposed sanctions on the head of the “Movement of the First,” the president of South Ossetia, and Putin adviser Alan Gagloev

The United Kingdom has expanded its sanctions against Russia. The list, published by the British Foreign Office, includes 22 people, one company, and eight vessels.

Those sanctioned include Artur Orlov, chairman of the board of the “Movement of the First”; the newly installed president of South Ossetia, Marat Kambolov; its former president Alan Gagloev; and others, as well as the heads of branches of the “Movement of the First” in the occupied territories of Ukraine.

The British Foreign Office suspects Orlov and the heads of the regional branches of the “Movement of the First” of participating in a program of forced deportation and “re-education” of Ukrainian children.

The list also includes eight military and security officials whom British authorities suspect of unlawfully detaining, torturing, and mistreating Ukrainian civilians.

The restrictions also hit the Singaporean company Novatek Gas and Power Asia, a subsidiary of Novatek, as well as eight vessels linked to the transport of Russian liquefied natural gas (LNG).
