We have relaunched Vestochka

Since June 4, 2026, when Rosfinmonitoring added OVD-Info to its list of terrorists and extremists, we had suspended Vestochka. Since then, we have received dozens of letters from users who lost contact with the people they were writing to — because without a Russian bank card, most third-party online letter-sending services are unavailable to them.

For several months we worked on strengthening security, and now we are glad to announce that we have relaunched Vestochka!

It now has two versions — for users in Russia and for users abroad.

For users in Russia, Vestochka works as a directory of political prisoners:

➡️ you can find a specific person by first or last name;

➡️ choose a recipient close to you in spirit using filters: by shared interests, views, or profession;

➡️ if you feel lost and do not know whom to write to, write to a random recipient — one appears as soon as you enter the site.

Copy the address and send a letter through a third-party electronic service (for example, ZT or F-Pismo) or by ordinary paper mail. You will find all instructions on the Vestochka website.

For Russians abroad and foreign users who do not have a Russian card, we have restored the ability to send letters directly through Vestochka — we will pay for the forwarding ourselves. This feature is available only in the English-language version. Sending letters through Vestochka is safe only if you do not live in Russia and follow all precautionary measures when crossing the border.
