The prosecution has requested five years and 11 months in a penal colony for Oleg Kuvaev in an in absentia case, writes SOTAvision.

He is accused of repeatedly violating the “foreign agent” law, as well as publicly calling for activity “directed against state security.”

The case was prompted by episode No. 169 of “Masyanya,” “Idoliada,” which includes calls for Russian soldiers to surrender. According to the prosecution, the video, which has received more than one million views, also contains an advertisement for the “I Want to Live” project, created with support from Ukraine’s Defense Ministry.

The “Masyanya” episode was not shown in court; the court assessed its content only from the words of witnesses and an expert. According to the defense, the publication on Kuvaev’s personal channel is an expression of his position.

The prosecution is also asking that Kuvaev be fined 290,000 rubles and banned from administering websites and channels on the internet for four years and 11 months. The verdict will be announced on October 5.

🔵Kuvaev has not lived in Russia since 2006. In December 2023, he was designated a “foreign agent” by the Justice Ministry.
