Their relatives have it very hard: it is not only constant fear for their loved ones and an extremely vulnerable situation, but also financial problems. Even a single short trip to a colony can cost tens of thousands of rubles: often the person is imprisoned in another region, thousands of kilometers from home.

Here is a detailed list of expenses from a relative of one of the political prisoners, who went to see him for just one short visit. She allowed this list to be published with the words: “This will help a person who is going to visit their loved one get their bearings.”
