In September, Russian forces advanced by 66 km², according to DeepState.
The first chart shows the contrast between advances in 2025 and 2026.
The advance by Russian forces remains extremely insignificant for such a long front line and such a number of assault operations.
Moreover, the chart does NOT take into account a number of territories liberated by the Ukrainian Armed Forces from July to September (DeepState estimates them at 270 to 320 km²). These figures will be updated when OPSEC allows.
Since May, the front has effectively stood still.
You cannot win a war with strikes on the rear when the front is standing still. Deep respect to Ukraine’s defenders.
The Offensive Meets Its Own Numbers
Russia’s September advance was estimated at 66 square kilometers.
For all those assaults, even the map is stingy.
