Eight years requested for Yabloko deputy chairman Maksim Kruglov over posts about the war
Kruglov was charged with spreading “fake news” about the Russian army, Mediazona reports. The case was triggered by two posts published shortly after the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
In one, Kruglov wrote about war crimes in Bucha; in the other, he posted a photo of destroyed Mariupol and wrote about dead civilians.
The politician did not admit guilt.
Maksim Kruglov is deputy chairman of Yabloko; he headed the party’s faction in the Moscow City Duma in 2019–2024.
