Crimean Solidarity Has Ceased Operations

This happened because the human rights movement was declared a “foreign agent” at the end of June.

Over ten years, Crimean Solidarity became not just an initiative, but a community of people united by mutual support, trust, and shared responsibility to one another. However, under the current circumstances, we consider this step necessary.

From this day [July 22], our website and social media pages will no longer be updated. The activities of the civic movement have been terminated.

The movement said that for ten years its human rights defenders documented cases of political persecution in Crimea, supported the families of detainees and arrestees, reported on their cases, and helped with legal defense.

🔵The human rights defenders most often wrote about cases against Crimean Tatars and Muslims accused of involvement in “Hizb ut-Tahrir.” In 2018, one of the project’s coordinators was detained; two years later, he was sentenced to 14 years in the “Hizb ut-Tahrir” case, according to Mediazona.
