Participants in the war in Ukraine will be congratulated on their anniversaries with mini-parades. Originally, they were held only for WWII veterans

The Center for Information Support and Development of the patriotic “Mini-Parade” campaign received nearly one and a half million rubles from the Presidential Grants Foundation to organize mini-parades in honor of the anniversaries of participants in the war in Ukraine and “other local conflicts,” Verstka noticed.

“Since 2019, the team has organized more than 1,000 mini-parades in various regions of Russia for veterans of the Great Patriotic War in honor of Victory Day and Defender of the Fatherland Day. The organization is currently developing a new area: congratulating participants in the special military operation and veterans of other local conflicts on their anniversaries,” the application says.

The organization plans to hold 18 mini-parades for military personnel, with a total of no fewer than one thousand participants: students, Young Army members, cadets, and others. According to the center, it will work with military enlistment offices and other bodies to “identify the celebrants,” and also help conduct the events.

“At the same time, participants will be given room for a creative approach, taking into account the personality of the celebrant, regional particularities, and available opportunities. Following the events, a contest for the best mini-parade will be organized,” the organizers report.

In this way, the organizers plan to cultivate in young people “civic consciousness and patriotism, fidelity to constitutional and military duty,” as well as to form professional qualities and “readiness for their active manifestation in various spheres of society, especially in the process of military and other state service related to it.”
