Kazakh-Russian businessman Yermek Suyundukov imported a record amount of fiber optic cable into Russia in 2025, The Insider found. He also certified in Russia equipment for winding fiber onto spools for drones and imported other drone components, enough to assemble tens of thousands of units.

According to information obtained by The Insider, virtually all the fiber in 2025 was shipped to Russia by two Chinese companies. At the same time, more than 80% of the fiberglass imported into Russia went to two recipients: sole proprietor Suyundukov Yermek Amandykovich and Inkab LLC.

From January to March 2025, Suyundukov imported 120 tons of fiber into Russia. A spool of fiber optic cable for a drone weighs about 2 kg, so that amount of fiber is enough to provide communications for several tens of thousands of drones.

Inkab LLC is a major manufacturer of optical cables for civilian purposes. The Insider learned that the plant is also currently producing cables for aerostats used for military purposes. Aerostats are now used by the military in the “SMO” zone and other regions to install jamming systems, retransmitters, and observation stations.
