A little cringe for your feed. In the settlement of Bezenchuk in Samara Region, a monument to the “heroes of the SMO” was installed, which local residents called caricature-like. Around 2 million rubles were allocated for the memorial under the “People’s Budget” program.

After the Veterans of Russia organization asked for the spending on the sculptural composition to be reviewed, the district administration promised to fix everything.

“The monument is being revised. The monument is currently covered, it has not been unveiled, there was no official opening. It’s in progress,” district officials told Podem.

They also added that “the object has not been accepted by the customer and payment to the contractor has not been made.”

Monument Covered Before the Speeches Began

In Bezenchuk, the monument was covered after locals called it caricature-like.

Acceptance stalled, but the embarrassment made it through.
