Russia will begin importing fuel by sea because of a gasoline shortage caused by Ukrainian strikes on refineries, Reuters reports, citing sources.

In June, Russia, one of the world’s largest exporters of oil and petroleum products, is expected to receive a gasoline shipment through one of its western ports.

According to another source, last year Russia considered the possibility of importing fuel by sea, but ultimately managed with domestic supplies.

However, this year the situation has changed because of months-long Ukrainian drone attacks on Russian oil refineries, pipelines, and fuel storage facilities.
