In Nizhny Novgorod Region, a deserting serviceman was charged with murdering and dismembering three women

A resident of Nizhny Novgorod Region has been charged under articles on murder and desertion, the Investigative Committee reports.

According to investigators, the man deserted from a military unit and killed a woman he had been living with in the settlement of Neklyudovo.

After that, he allegedly killed her mother and daughter in Nizhny Novgorod, dismembered the bodies, and rented a Gazelle van in which he planned to take the remains to a forest. He was detained by traffic police officers during a vehicle check in Nizhny Novgorod.

“Suitcases, backpacks, packages, and bags were found in the cargo area. The driver explained that these were his passenger’s personal belongings. The passenger became nervous and then suddenly ran away from the police officers, but was detained,” said Interior Ministry spokesperson Irina Volk.

The man is reported to have partially admitted guilt.
